A water-free, 100% active-lipid cleanser built on a single principle: like dissolves like. MCT oil flows into pores to dissolve oxidised debris. Unrefined castor oil provides the deep pull that lifts it all away. Meadowfoam stabilises the whole system — no rancidity, no preservation needed. When you rinse, what leaves your skin is what should not have been there. What stays is your barrier, intact.

Why this product exists

Every cleanser on the market has to make a choice between doing the job and respecting the barrier. The surfactant-based ones (most drugstore face washes, most foaming cleansers) strip everything — oil, bacteria, and the lipid mortar that holds the stratum corneum together. The creamy ones leave a film. Oil-based cleansers work on the principle of solubility: oil dissolves oil, and the right blend of oils will dissolve oxidised sebum, sunscreen residue, environmental debris, and makeup without disrupting the skin's own lipid organisation. Bio Clean is our implementation of that principle, formulated to the 0% Standard™.

Ingredients

  • MCT Oil (C8/C10) 0% Approved — Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. Fast-absorbing, odourless, exceptionally stable. The base that allows the rest of the formula to work without preservation.
  • Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate 0% Approved — Plant-derived natural-origin emulsifier. When you wet your skin during the second massage phase, this is what lifts the dissolved debris into a rinsable emulsion. No surfactants, no sulfates.
  • Jojoba Oil (unrefined) 0% Approved — Simmondsia Chinensis. A liquid wax whose structure matches human sebum closely enough that the skin recognises it as sebum. Cleanses and conditions in one move.
  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil (unrefined) 0% Approved — Limnanthes Alba. The most oxidatively stable botanical oil routinely used in skincare. Extends shelf life without synthetic antioxidants.
  • Castor Oil (unrefined) 0% Approved — Ricinus Communis. The "pull" of the cleanser. Ricinoleic acid lifts oxidised sebum and heavy debris from the pore without the stripping sensation of a surfactant.
  • d-alpha Tocopherol 0% Approved — Natural vitamin E. Antioxidant protection for the formula, calming benefit for the skin.

How to use

  1. Apply 1–2 pumps to dry hands.
  2. Massage onto dry face for 60 seconds, including around the eyes (it's safe).
  3. Wet your hands and massage again for 60–90 seconds to activate the emulsion. The cleanser will turn milky.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Pat dry.
  5. Follow with Bio Gold or whatever serum you are currently using.

What to expect

First use: your skin will feel cleaner than it has in months — without that tight, stripped feeling most cleansers leave. First week: skin learns the new equilibrium. Oily-skin types may see a brief adjustment period as sebum production rebalances. First month: a softer, more even texture. Clogged pores tend to clear. Your other products absorb better because the barrier is intact.

FAQ

Will this work for oily or acne-prone skin?
Yes. The most common driver of adult acne is a compromised barrier caused by over-cleansing with harsh surfactants. Bio Clean does not strip — and oily-skin customers routinely report reduced breakouts within 2–3 weeks.

Can I use it as a first cleanse and then follow with a water-based cleanser?
You can, but you probably won't need to. The emulsion rinses fully clean with just water.

Does it remove mascara and sunscreen?
Yes. Massage for the full 60 seconds dry-on-dry before wetting and it will lift both effectively.

How long does a bottle last?
Under normal once-daily use, approximately 8–10 weeks.

Pairs with: Bio Gold, Bio Glide, PrimalDent.

EVERY INGREDIENT, EXPLAINED

What's in the bottle

  • MCT Oil (C8/C10)Base carrier oil

    INCI: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride

Fractionated medium-chain triglyceride — fast-absorbing, odourless, and exceptionally stable. Pulled from coconut, refined to isolate the C8 (caprylic) and C10 (capric) chains. Base oil of the formulation — its tactile smoothness and rapid absorption are why Bio Gold feels like a serum rather than an oil despite being entirely lipid-based.

    Sourcing: Coconut-derived, fractionated.

  • Polyglyceryl-4 OleateNatural-origin emulsifier

    INCI: Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate

A plant-derived, natural-origin emulsifier. Its job inside Bio Clean is the trick that makes an oil cleanser rinsable: when you wet your hands during the second massage phase, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate assembles the dissolved sebum, debris, and cleansing oils into a milky emulsion that lifts cleanly away with water. It is not a surfactant — it does not strip the skin's lipid barrier the way SLS, SLES, coco-betaine, and other foaming agents do. Structurally it is a tetra-glycerol backbone with a single oleic acid ester, which is what gives it a mild, skin-compatible HLB. The combination of solubilising power without stripping is why it sits at the heart of the Bio Clean system. It is also the reason we can formulate a cleanser with no preservatives, no synthetic surfactants, and no sulfates, and still deliver a thorough clean.

Sourcing: Plant-derived, typically from coconut or rapeseed glycerol esterified with single-chain oleic acid.

  • Golden Jojoba Oil (unrefined)Sebum-mimetic carrier

    INCI: Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil

First-press, unrefined, retains phytosterols and tocopherols that refinement removes. Wax-ester structure is a close match to human sebum — the skin recognises this as 'skin lipid' rather than occluding against it. Jojoba is technically a liquid wax, not an oil, and its ~98% long-chain wax ester structure gives it a stability and skin-recognition profile nothing else in the kingdom matches.

Sourcing: First-press, unrefined. Not cosmetic-grade refined.

  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil (unrefined)Stability anchor

    INCI: Limnanthes Alba Seed Oil

The most oxidatively stable botanical oil routinely available. Approximately 95% of its fatty-acid profile is long-chain (C20 and above), with unsaturations at the ∆5 position rather than the more common ∆9 or ∆12. That geometric detail is why meadowfoam resists oxidation not only by its own chemistry but extends the stability of other oils it is blended with. The reason Bio Gold is preservative-free.

    Sourcing: Unrefined, cold-pressed.

  • Castor Oil (unrefined)Deep-pull cleansing and film-forming backbone

    INCI: Ricinus Communis Seed Oil

The chemical reason castor oil is irreplaceable is ricinoleic acid — an unusual hydroxy fatty acid that comprises around 90% of castor triglycerides. Ricinoleic acid's hydroxyl group gives the oil a hydrophilic character unusual among vegetable oils, which is what lets it lift oxidised sebum and heavy debris from the pore without the stripping sensation of a surfactant. In Bio Clean it provides the 'pull' of the second massage phase. In Bio Glide it plays a different role — its high viscosity and mechanical film-forming ability create what we call the Castor-Grip: a thin, cohesive layer that the blade skates across rather than cuts through. This is the same mechanical principle at work in old-world barber preparations. We use unrefined, cold-pressed castor — the refined cosmetic grade is more consistent in colour but loses the minor constituents that give the unrefined oil its tackier, more adhesive behaviour.

Sourcing: Cold-pressed and unrefined; organic where available. Avoids the bleached/deodorised grade used in most commercial skincare.

  • d-alpha TocopherolAntioxidant (vitamin E)

    INCI: Tocopherol

Natural vitamin E (d-alpha is the naturally occurring stereoisomer, as opposed to the synthetic dl-alpha). Protects the formula's oxidative stability in the bottle and contributes its own antioxidant behaviour on the skin. Works in combination with the tocopherol fraction of prickly pear to give Bio Gold a multi-pathway antioxidant profile without synthetic preservatives.

Sourcing: Natural d-alpha, not synthetic dl-alpha.

How to use

Pat dry.
  5. Follow with Bio Gold (when available) or whatever serum you are currently using.
